Yes, the Finepix has a very delicate lens mechanism that won't tolerate any 
impediment to it extending.  We got someone else to take a photo with it and the 
oaf picked the camera up with his thumb on the lens - finish!  Cost more to fix 
the lens mechanism than to buy a new one.  My Nikon P5100 point-and-shoot has 
been turned on accidently in the case, but it just shows "lens error" when the 
lens is prevented from extending - turn it off, and it's fine.

 	(We're very careful about oafs now :)
