Heh.  40 years ago I took available light photos in nightclubs in
Hamburg with my Pentax Spotmatic with f/1.4 lens and films that I
pushed to 6400 ASA (none of this ISO stuff in those days :-)

I can't do that any more ;-( My lens is f/4, and the maximum speed
that my camera can offer is 1600 ISO, fully 5 stops less sensitive
than 40 years ago.  Hopefully now that resolutions are high enough,
the sensor manufacturers will concentrate on more sensitive sensors.
I believe one top-end Nikon already offers 16,000 ISO.
