   as i siad in sndrews responce .. it all depends on how one defince'performance'
   and 'better' and a swaag of other suchlike abjectival embelishments.

   i am not disagreeing with you guys (andrew and jerahmy) rather  espousing
   diferent priorities i think is teh terms of engagement.

   i have heard teh there is a small but patient group working on teh sun
   ultrasparc seris processors and i think its teh ones theat tehy are targeting
   or at least will be able to amortise/jumpstart from/to that are teh machines
   i'm offloading .. at least thats teh thinking here ..i know its 2/3 am and my
   typing is startint to betray me.

   before i completely forget

   as an aside ..  anny one got an old dltIV capapble external tapedrive sitting
   in a closet rotting awau in a data center .. old fashiomed shoe closet denizen
   would also be ok and or a usb based floppy drive (one of thos 72/1,44 mb types,
   have old laptop with need of usb floppy to beoot from .. umm can come to some
   sort of an arangemnet .. prefer to try begging steaking or scrounginging firtst
 
   and for a loan, if you can bring it over a sun scsi dvd player, needed for
   booting sun ultra 60 graphical workstation only scsi dvd's i managed to get
   (plextor really nioce but has teh scsi I 50 wire headers (centronics type
   cable ends) this machine is scsi3 througout needs 80 wire scsi III interface
   headers on dvd cable connectorss
