The only benefit I'm aware of is the lower power consumption and heat  
generation of the G4... The G5 is faster, has some extra bits (64  
instead of 32) and is generally pretty good.. It's not as good as it  
could have been, but it's still better than the G4 in terms of  
performance..

But FreeBSD developers don't support sun hardware =p
