meh (shrug shoulders)

I had (long while back now) an Aussie made 24port hub (yes, "hub" - I 
_said_ it was a while back ;')

the fan it it died (just the one), but because I was only using 3 or 4 
ports it didn't get very hot. when the ambient temperature started to 
climb, I pulled to top off, and drilled some holes in the area above the 
heat sink - it never missed a beat.

I eventually gave it to someone who had a bigger need than I, but as far 
as I know, it's still kicking along - sans fan :')
