Yep, all Itaniums use EFI..

FreeBSD has worked with EFI since it first came out in 2001..?

Suspend probably works on EFI systems, it's the ones with custom BIOS  
that always caused problems in the past. I recall my thinkpad writing  
crap all over my filesystems not so long ago.. Though I did get it to  
work mostly eventually..
