I set the alias root: to an external address =p
Which is what I usually do because I don't have time to log in to
every server and check the mail, I need it all sent to a central
location, which is why I have a nice big imap storage space it all
goes to.. I generally change the name of root in the passwd data base
to reflect what server it is, rather than 'charlie root'.. But in this
case I need to use masquerading for the server to accept mail from the
box, so either the system mail needs to NOT come from root or root
needs to get its address masqueraded, assuming that doesn't break
internal stuff..
