interesting advertising blurb, esp' about the lithium-polymer batteries.
most of what they said is reasonably true, not suggesting that tey wold lie
or even "advertise" the truth so to speak. rather not tell teh whole story.

it is going to be interesting to see what happens when teh after sales
market gets hold of these things and starts to sell the 'almost good enough
is good enough' product esp with the lithium-polymer batteries and those who
want to use 'quick charge' rechargers and in particular in warm places like
sub equatorial australia and continental america. unlike lithium-ion
bateries, there 'polymer cousins do not just get host and bothered they
quite literaly explode as in like a magnesium flare and like a multi-pack
firework canister the 'polymer batteries go up in sequence, each cell and
each battery increasing the damage as it progresses. also very hard to put
out once started.

thse 'polymer batteries pack a very good power to weight ration (a "d" cell
can be rated at 4 (or 11) amphours ('000 mill amp hours) and have a
reasonable cost per kwatt ratio, i think is teh term. for all of this
convience come teh price of extra care in regards to the overal maintenace
cycel of teh batteries themselves --- esp as some people in teh rc (radio
controlled) car world and more so teh small/model airplane, helicopter world
where i first came in contact with these 'polymer batteries and saw teh
consequences of less than carefull attention to detail as regard maintenece
off, care for and overall attention to detail as regards teh use and care
of thes 'polymer batteries ... they have been around for a good while and
tehy are not as 'hair trigger as they once were.

exploding cameras a good image did not make .. grin, manufacturers are still
cautious at using, but if apple has got its quality controll down to a fine
art then these small inconviences should not big issues become (for apple).

oops, nearly forgot, these 'polymer batteries need thier own chargers, so if
you have lith-ion batteries and buy a swag off 'polymer bateries make sur
you get a dedicated charger or one that will do 'polymers/nicad/lith-ion as
each has its own specialised charging profile and almost unique
characteristics that if not taken into account will at least give you a
shortened lifespan or at worst a fire damages bill/insurance claim (first
hand experience off same, as in poorly optimesed recharging cucle lead to
small explaosion and spectacular kitchen benchtop fire, my friend, now
recharcges his lithium polymer batteries (for his model helicopter, rotor
span about a meter, flies really nicely) in an old aluminiun sauspan with a
bells and whistles computer regulated 'polymer specific battery charger.

in case your interested his kitchen survived with minimal damage, fortunate
(and a wiser header of warnings.

take care

much regards

jonathan
