I'm still using FreeBSD 6.2, haven't got around to updating my systems
for a while. I'm not sure there is a choice? Perhaps I don't know,
because I haven't updated my systems in a while :-P
How easy is this:
[root at 220 ~]# ./freebsd-update.sh fetch
Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 1 mirrors found.
Fetching metadata signature for 6.2-RELEASE from update1.FreeBSD.org...
done.
Fetching metadata index... done.
Fetching 2 metadata patches.. done.
Applying metadata patches... done.
Inspecting system... done.
Preparing to download files... done.
Fetching 4 patches... done.
Applying patches... done.
Fetching 2 files... done.
The following files are affected by updates, but no changes have
been downloaded because the files have been modified locally:
/etc/rc.d/jail
The following files will be updated as part of updating to 6.2-RELEASE-p12:
/usr/lib/libssh.a
/usr/lib/libssh.so.3
/usr/lib/libssh_p.a
/usr/sbin/sshd
/usr/src/crypto/openssh/channels.c
/usr/src/sys/conf/newvers.sh
WARNING: FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE HAS PASSED ITS END-OF-LIFE DATE.
Any security issues discovered after Sun Jun 1 17:00:00 EST 2008
will not have been corrected.
[root at 220 ~]# ./freebsd-update.sh install
Installing updates... done.
