greetings all

i've been doing a lot of thinking about my mailer problems,
some of them have got something to do with the dns problems
that are plaging my so called "out of teh box, so easy to set up"
etc, etc, its not even for a simple setup like mine things do
and have gone realllly wrong.

whinge over ..

one of teh thing that i need to do is to change how sendmail
works in this domain .. i looked in /etc/mail and found several
sets of .cf (configuration files) and .mc (runtime files) i'm
wondering which of teh ??3 ?? sets i need to change, i'm not
comfortable reading teh makefile (but working on that issue)

do i need to alter teh freebsd. set ?? (.mc .cf)
or teh local.hostname.domainame.com.au set (.mc .cf)
or just teh sendmail (.mc .cf) set

and if i make a change in teh basic configuration (sendmail.cf)
do i need to reflect these changes into teh sendmail-submit.cf
file ??

after this all i need to do is to just do a root privaledged

[/etc/make] # make

and then to restart sendmail/get teh mailqueue reread to get
teh stuff out of teh well mail queue ..

also i've finally sorted out what teh -local-hist-names file is
for/contains .. yes it is stupidly simple but given some of teh
explanations i;ve hared .. its a long story.

please no pointers to man or google .. i've had a gut full of
there idea of english over teh las few days

kind regards and appreciations

jonathan

please excuse teh tone its been a long and bloody day, very much so
