Heyas,

I'v seen this done before.. In fact I saw it working like 10 years  
ago, so it has to be even better now..

But has anyone here had experience with using bsd with samba to  
authenticate windows workstation users? What they call a "domain  
controller".. How difficult is it to make work and is there anything  
much that can't be done?

I'm not looking for specifics, just general feelings on the subject =)

We have been using samba asa PDC (primary Domain Controller) since 2001 to authenticate Win95/98/NT4/2000/and XP.

The Samba documentation website would have the complete and simple docs on how to do it. It's not complicated to setup.

Most of howtos are using Linux, but config wise is the same as FreeBSD.
