[BUGS] Strange NIC behavior

Yes, I had never seen it before until recently.. But it seems a lot of  
people are also seeing the same behavior.. It's annoying me not  
knowing why though..

Yes I would say they are separate issues, just I happened to notice  
them both at the same time..

The only ports open on this box to the outside world are SSH (22) and  
SMTP (on 587), it also runs samba which opens 139, 445 and 901 but  
they are only accessible from the lan.. Oh and ntpd of course on port  
123, also blocked..

I will investigate the logs further and see what I can dig up..
