maybe i am missing teh point too but i have a host (on freebsd
v6.2 and its sendmail) that cannot forward mail beyond its own
hard disk it currently has since feb 18 2007 when i "upgraded"
freebsd to v6.2.

it also has it name in teh local-hostnames file all teh aliases
files names are the same as the other 6 machines .. everything
in /etc/mail is nearly identical to all teh other machines with
v6.2 but this one machine cannot get mail out of its mailqueue
??

i'll admit i'm not comfortable with v6,2 but i am getting
there i have got a basic freebsd setup it works and does its
job i still have issues with named but my dns is working and is
lookupable and is authoratative for all teh relevent machines.
localy and intranetworkingly .. as far as i can tell.

i donot use mailertable/virtualuser ...

and here is an example of one of teh maintenance (3 am etc)
that gets clobbered when the aliases system trys to post teh
article from reality to mx.caamora.com.au and into my mailbox
on teh mx host

here is one of teh "headers" file for the articles that get
generated by root's crontab periodical (daily maintenance) this
addresse is according to /etc/mail/aliases is readdressed to jlm
at caamora dot com dot au by the mail aliases file ...

.... but instead of landing in my mailbox on teh mx host it
never leaves the machine ending up in teh
/var/spool/clientmqueue.

but all teh other machines work properly oooops except for
another one but its on because i'm keeping teh cmos battery
'charged' but all teh others, teh sendmail works as charged, i
cannot see what teh differences in teh config files are, teht
all apprear (to me) to be identical .. i do nto understand what
is happening.

another data point .. i think
