I'd noticed this, but thought it was due to a very-low toner effect.  I took out 
a mortgage on the house to buy a new set of toners and I don't notice it anymore 
(although I haven't needed thicker paper yet - that may be the big test). 
Also, I've knocked back the cyan intensity a bit.  That may do something too.
