Hi Jonathan, if it were me I'd probably get Vista and dual boot
FreeBSD for a while, then when happy, get rid of the other OS.
Unless you plan on actually using Windows for anything more than a
test bed, then get whatever flavour you're happy with. Most laptops
these days don't come with install CD's but rather a recovery partition
on the hard drive. They have various methods for burning install CD's
though, so don't forget to do that before wiping your hard drive!
