greetings all,

i've been asked what i wanted for christmass and i've replied a
laptop with a 15 inch plus screen that will handle freebsd (any
bsd ok) i have my preferences toshiba possibly dell (out side
of tehat anything that will ship with ms windows xp
professional, if i cannot get freebsd or a sane version of
linux).

my requirements are simple, outside of having a 15/17 inch
screen and 2 gb or 3 gb dram and it run freebsd "flawlessly" i
am open to sugestions ..

would teams bugs be so kind as to provide some suggestions, war
stories laptops to stay away from and or laptops that work,
well with all teh important bits wifi screen res 1200x1024'ish
dvd/cd cut/read easy replace batteries and hdd onboard
ethernet.

i have had a bit off a look and teh numbers. names words don't
mean much to me .. i'm still stuck in teh late 80's early 90's
when laptops weight in at 20 pounds and had orange on black
test screens if tehy had "graphics" capabilities .. grin

much appreciations, kind regards

jonathan
