and more specifically: whether libX11 was compiled with "use xcb" option as per:
"libX11 has some configure options, notably the --with-xcb option to
use XCB for low-level protocol"

... in my experience some lockups were present on systems with libX11
which was compiled '--with-xcb'... on the other hand libX11 configured
with '--without-xcb' was running OK... just in case it helps...
