I don't think so.  The right answer isn't to try to avoid flowed
format, but to embrace it, and live with the 75-column wrap that
Mail.app will give your messages automatically.

If you edit all of your text to be a long list of one-line
paragraphs, all shorter than 75 characters, then it'll probably
stay that way through the list manager, but why would you want
that sort of grief?

If you really, really, want to compose text e-mail in a way that
won't be confusing to anyone, especially yourself, then use mutt
and edit in vi and fil your own paragraphs with !}fmt or the
like.  Works for me, anyway.  (I only do that for mailing lists,
though.  Friends, family and colleagues all send and expect HTML
or RTF mail, and I've learned not to fight it, most of the time...)
